While a part of the show, Traylor also worked on the film “Me, Myself & Irene”, in the role of Layla Baileygates, which starred Jim Carrey and Renee Zellweger.
Over the next few years, Howard made several guest appearances in popular TV shows, including “The West Wing”, “First Monday”, and “The Division”. The series focuses on the titular character, Adrian Monk as he solves crimes similar to those in a police procedural series, although the show went on to exhibit comedy as well as exploration of the personal lives of its main characters. The show became highly popular, and she played the role of Natalie Teeger, Monk’s second and final assistant, a young widow with a daughter, who usually tells Monk when his eccentricities are going too far.
The show held the most-watched scripted drama episode in cable television history from 2009 to 2012, until it was broken by “The Walking Dead”. In 2011, she married Jarel Portman and they had son a year later. Many believe that she decided to focus more on raising a family, which is why she is no longer taking acting work.
