Brendan is the son of Canadian parents, Carol Mary (née Genereux) and Peter Fraser; he is the youngest in the family with three older brothers, Kevin, Regan, and Sean. Brendan is of mixed ancestry as he has German, Irish, French-Canadian, and even Czech roots. During his childhood years, Brendan and the whole Fraser family moved around the world, from Canada to Europe, living even in Switzerland and Netherland for a while. He went to Upper Canada College, which is a private boarding school in Toronto. He eventually graduated with a degree from Seattle’s Cornish College of the Arts in 1990.
