Who is actress Briana Evigan from “Step Up 2”?

Briana Barbara-Jane Evigan was born on 23 October 1986, in Los Angeles, California USA, and is a dancer and actress, probably best known for being a part of the “Step Up” film series in which she played the role of Andie West. She was also a part of the thriller film “Sorority Row”.

The Net Worth of Briana Evigan

How rich is Briana Evigan? As of mid-2018, sources estimate a net worth that is over $8 million, mostly earned through a successful career as an actress. She is particularly noted as a Scream Queen, having starred in numerous horror and thriller films throughout her career. As she continues her endeavors, it is expected that her wealth will also continue to increase.

Early Life and Career

Briana was born the youngest of three siblings with mixed Italian and Polish heritage, and was not a stranger to the entertainment industry as her father was actor Greg Evigan while her mother was dancer/actress Pamela C. Serpe. At the age of nine she had already started dancing, and would go on to become a part of the group called Moorish Idol with which she sang and played keyboards.

She attended Los Angeles Valley College, and would complete a degree in speech and communication, after which she went on to pursue a career in dance. Having made a name for herself as a professional dancer, she started appearing in music videos for various popular bands and artists, which included Enrique Iglesias, Flo Rida, Linkin Park, and T-Pain. She also forayed into acting work, appearing in various support roles in films and television series.

Big Break in Acting – Step Up 2 and Other Work

In 2008, Evigan found her big break when she won the role of Andie West for the sequel of the successful dance film entitled “Step Up”, named “Step Up 2: The Streets”, in which she would be one of the stars. The film would be released in 2008, and despite negative reviews would achieve considerable success at the box office, and her role in the film would earn her an MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss, which she shared with Robert Hoffman. A year later, she became a part of the sequel for the cult horror hit “Donnie Darko” entitled “S. Darko”, however, the film went straight to DVD and received negative reviews.

Briana was then cast as the star of the remake of the horror film entitled “Sorority Row”, appearing alongside Audrina Patridge and Jamie Chung. The film would receive mixed reviews, but her personal performance was well received by critics, and the film also did well at the box office; she was named as one of the stars to look out for. Following her trend of horror and thriller films, she then signed to become a part of the remake of the cult slasher film entitled “Mother’s Day”, but it experienced various difficulties, and was only released on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Scream Queen – Further Horror Work

In 2009, Briana was given the lead role in the film “Burning Bright” which is about two siblings getting trapped in a house with a tiger during a hurricane. The critical reception of the film was very positive, however, the film was released straight to DVD. She then worked on several indie projects, before starring in the short film entitled “The Devil’s Carnival”, and reprised her role in the sequel entitled “The Devil’s Carnival: Alleluia!”

In 2014, she then reprised her role of Andie West for the fifth installment of the “Step Up” series entitled “Step Up: All In”, after which she was cast in the role of Jude in “Love Is All You Need?”. The following year, she then confirmed on Twitter that she would be cast as a part of the second season of the series “From Dusk Till Dawn”, which is based on the film of the same name, appearing in the series alongside Danny Trejo. One of her latest projects is the short film entitled “Angel of Anywhere”.

Relationships

Briana was known to have been in a relationship with actor and dancer Robert Hoffman who she worked with in the film “Step Up 2”; they were even engaged, but called off the engagement after a year. In 2010, she started a relationship with actor Patrick John Flueger who is known from being one of the leads in the series “The 4400”, which lasted for only three years. She was also said to have had a short relationship with actor Ryan Guzman. There have been no reported relationships involving her since then, so she remains officially single.

Quotes

1I don't date dancers, but I've always wanted to teach guys how to dance.
2I think it's incredibly cute when a guy can't dance and doesn't care about how crazy he looks.
3Hip hop classes and ballet are what I've been keeping up with, and of course my usual abdominal workout, which consists of 500 sit-ups a session. Or I take a 30-minute abs class at my gym. But dance classes are a full-body cardio workout, which always brings me success and keeps me feeling great.
