According to her, she had very little to support her, and dealt with many issues growing up. Her mother had to take care of the family alone, and she decided that even though she was the youngest, she would strive to help her family.
Eventually, she found an opportunity during the rise of popularity of social media websites such as Facebook and Instagram. Her followers and fan base grew steadily and the platform allowed her to get exposure, leading to numerous other opportunities, including appearing on the cover of several print and digital magazines. This season was a departure from the last two seasons as it featured a new setting with the cast members now travelling on a tour bus. The new style did come with some challenges especially while they were travelling – in one incident, one of the support trucks driven by a roadie caused an accident when the driver fell asleep at the wheel, and crossed over into oncoming traffic, hitting a pickup truck and a sports-utility vehicle (SUV). Two people were killed and two seriously injured. The driver was suspended and given violations, and the show temporarily suspended.

Throughout the show Lake was assisted by Deans Stryker and Alani “La La” Vasquez, and was able to reach the ninth episode of the show and the top four contestants before being eliminated, with the show eventually won by “Real Chance of Love” contestant Ebony “Risky” Jones.
