The Wealth of Desmond Harrington

How rich is Desmond Harrington? As of mid-2018, sources inform us of a net worth that is over $4 million, mostly earned through a successful career in acting. He’s been nominated for several awards, mostly thanks to his work during his time at “Dexter”. As he continues his career, it is expected that his wealth will also continue to increase.

Early Life and Career Beginnings

While Desmond was born in Savannah, his family moved to The Bronx, New York City, where he would be raised. Not many details have been revealed regarding his childhood, education, or how he decided he wanted to pursue acting. It is known that at a young age, he had developed an interest in the craft, and would go on to pursue it in 1999, getting his first role in “The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc”, the French epic historical film which featured Milla Jovovoich and John Malcovich, portraying the story of religious martyr (later St.) Joan of Arc during the 15th century.

Since appearing in that film, Desmond has continued to have prominent roles in numerous films. He was a part of “The Hole”, and “Ghost Ship” which is a horror film following a marine salvage crew as they discover a mysterious ocean liner that disappeared in 1962. He also became a part of 2003’s“Wrong Turn”, another horror film in which he starred alongside Eliza Dushku.

Later Work

Harrington would go on to appear in the Steven Spielberg sci-fi film entitled “Taken”, in which he plays an abductee of aliens, Jesse Keyes. The miniseries first aired as a part of the Sci-Fi Channel, and follows three families from 1944 to 2002. In 2008, he then was then cast in one of his most prominent roles in “Dexter”, cast as Detective Joseph “Joey” Quinn. The series focuses on Dexter Morgan, a forensic technician specializing in blood spatter analysis, but who is secretly a vigilante serial killer. The show would go on to run for a total of eight seasons.

Harrington also had a guest role in the series “Gossip Girl”, in which he played Jack Bass, later reprising his role during the third season of the show. The show revolved around the fictional lives of adolescents living in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Concurrently he also had a role in the premiere of the series “Justified”. In 2012, he had a support role as a police officer in “The Dark Knight Rises”, which is the final installment of the “The Dark Knight” trilogy by Christopher Nolan. A few of his latest projects include the film “The Neon Demon” which is a psychological horror film, and a regular series role in “Elementary”, playing Michael.

Relationships and Personal Life

Desmond has been a part of a few relationships during his career, though most of them have been kept secret. In 2012, it was discovered that he was in a relationship with Amanda Seyfried, however, they split up one year later. In 2014, he was linked to social media personality Gabbie Hanna, who released a Tweet which led to rumors that the two were dating, rumors which haven’t been confirmed. Nothing else is known about the current status of Desmond’s dating.

There were also rumors that spread some time during his career when he became noticeably thinner in the series “Dexter”. Some speculated that he had undergone plastic surgery, or that he was sick and maybe even addicted to drugs. He shot down all of those rumors and stated that he just changed how he ate, and began to exercise with a preference for running.

Is Desmond Harrington on Social Media?

Unlike many actors in today’s industry, Harrington maintains his privacy through having no accounts associated with any of the major social media websites, such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. For this very reason, there hasn’t been much revealed about his current affairs, relationships, or even his past. There was a Twitter account in his name though it is a fan page and not related to him, and it ceased activity in 2015. He also has several fan pages on Facebook, and all of them have stopped activity, with most being inactive since 2010. There are also other social media accounts sharing his name, but they are from different people.
