Jessica Dean was born in Little Rock, Arkansas USA in 1985, and is a news reporter and TV program anchor, probably best known for being the co-anchor of the CBS show “Eyewitness News”. She also contributes to various other CBS Philadelphia-based shows such as “The Digital Brief” and the daily news updates.

Early Life and Education
While there is very little information available about Jessica’s life growing up, it is known that she was raised in Little Rock alongside an elder sister. At a young age, she started training in ballet, and would develop her skills for around nine years. She often went out with her parents, as the family loved to travel and participate in outdoor activities.
Later on, she attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, graduating with a degree in broadcast journalism in 2006, and during her time there, she did an internship as a part of “Dateline NBC”. Her career began as a reporter for the station KNWA/KFTA located in Fort Smith, Arkansas; some of her responsibilities during this time included being an anchor, reporter, editor and photographer, and although she didn’t like photography, she was thankful that she had numerous roles early in her career which helped her understand the work she was doing.

A Journey to CBS
Aside from her work with KNWA, she also worked at the station KATV located in Little Rock, where she did anchor, co-hosting and reporting work. Afterwards, she joined the NBC affiliate KARK-TV also in Little Rock in 2011, serving as an evening news anchor. According to an interview, Dean’s work there would be instrumental in helping her take the next step in her career, and she was very proud to have been a part of the team for two years until in 2013, when she was offered the chance to join CBS.

Dean joined CBS as the weekday evening anchor, often alongside Chris May in the station’s various evening newscasts. She also served with the sister channel, CW associate WPSG, replacing Susan Barnett who left the station after her contract was not renewed. Jessica then moved to Philadelphia, and would become one of the anchors of “Eyewitness News” alongside Ukee Washington, and of “the Digital Brief”, which is part of the channel’s online website CBSPhilly.com, presenting various daily news updates. Thanks to her work, she has participated in several high profile events as a reporter, including Pope Francis’ visit to Philadelphia, and presenting during the 2016 Democratic National Convention.
Charity and Marriage
Jessica is particularly known for conducting one-on-one interviews, often during election seasons when she interviews various candidates. She even went to Cleveland during the 2016 Republican National Convention to interview notable political names there.

Aside from her journalism work, she is also very active through CBS’ community outreach programs. She’s been known to work with Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and Alex’s Lemonade Stand.
She also serves as Honorary Ambassador for the Pennsylvania Ballet’s School along with their outreach initiatives, working with students and helping them participate in various outreach and educational programs.
Jessica Dean has been married to business and communications strategist Blake Rutherford since 2009, and the couple reside in Philadelphia. They also own a Labrador mix dog.

Similar to numerous broadcast journalists, Jessica is very active on social media as it is a means for them to despatch news quickly, and also update people online about latest behind-the-scenes developments. She does not have an Instagram account, and while there are many other people carrying the same name on the website, it is clearly not associated with Jessica as the pictures do not even relate.
