Browne initially worked as a reporter and full-time anchor at WSJV-TV in Indiana, an ABC affiliate. She then headed the station’s Michigan Bureau before getting her first television job as a nightly anchor and News Director of WLIG TV 55 in New York City, concurrently working on radio at WLIM-AM located in Long Island, New York, mainly during the morning hours. She then started working for News 12 Long Island, which is a 24-hour cable news television channel, anchoring the station’s highest-rated three-hour morning news program. She also did field work, general assignment reporting.

Browne also hosted the weekly half hour news talk “Reporter Roundtable”, plus attracting a lot of attention for covering significant events in the area, including the Long Island Rail Road Shooting, the crash of TWA Flight 800, and the World Trade Center bombing in 1993, plus reporting on national events which would affect Long Island. She also reported from Albany, New York State, and from the United Nations.

MSNBC and Fox News Channel

After being a part of News 12 Long Island for many years, she then moved to MSNBC where she would be the anchor of the two-hour show “Weekend Morning Line”. She continued to do similar tasks with the network, conducting live interviews and also covering breaking news without any script, and appearing on various NBC news network channels. She also served as a substitute news anchor on CNBC.

In 2000, Patti Ann moved to the Fox News Channel as a full-time anchor for the headline news updates of “Fox News Live”, which is the hard news daytime show, producing short headline segments nearly every hour of the day, also serving as a substitute host for various other programs on the network. She works as a part of the Fox News Radio network too, anchoring most of the hourly news updates.
