Misa was born to a Dutch mother and Filipino father. After living for a while in Canada, she went to live with her father in Newport Beach, California, where she grew up and stayed for several years before returning to Canada at the age of 10, where she then stayed with her mother and two sisters. Over the next few years, she would travel across the two countries, and would then try her hand at pursuing a career in singing and modelling.

According to reports, she didn’t really enjoy high school and used to skip a lot of classes.
