FactIn The Big Lebowski (1998), his strange cowboy character admonishes The Dude (played by Jeff Bridges) for using "cusswords." When recalling anecdotes for the book "I'm a Lebowski, You're a Lebowski: Life, The Big Lebowski, and What Have You" from that film, Elliott used by far the most profanities of any cast member.

Who is musician Cleo Cole Elliott?

Cleo Cole Elliott was born on 17 September 1984, in Malibu, California USA, the only child of prominent Hollywood actors Katherine Ross and Sam Elliott, who met in 1978, while filming “The Legacy”, and married in 1984. Cleo is 33 years old, her zodiac sign is Virgo, and she is best known as a musician.

Net Worth

~$1 million. Her family is very rich, meaning that Cleo didn’t have any financial problems while growing up.

Ethnicity and Body Measurements: Height and Weight

When it comes to Elliott’s ethnicity, she is Caucasian and has very pale skin. Naturally, she has light brown hair, but she dyed it blonde in the past, and as of today dyes it bright pink; she has blue eyes. Speaking about her body measurements, Cleo is 5 feet 8 inches tall (170cms), whereas the information regarding her weight isn’t available.

Parents, Early Life and Education

Cleo is a daughter of Katherine Ross and Sam Elliott, and her grandparents are Dudley Ross and Ketherine W. Hall. Having been encouraged by her mother, she began singing at an early age, and reportedly still prefers live performances over recording. She learned to play the flute and guitar in school, but prefers singing. Speaking about her education, Elliott studied singing and was especially focused on Italian opera, with her teacher being Charity Chapman. Later on, she started working as a model for a hair styling show entitled “SEXYHAIR” in 2003. In 2006, Cleo graduated from the Joanne Barron/ D.W. Brown Acting Studio, but somewhat later she trainedg as a classical singer, collaborating with Charity Chapman once again.  Speaking about that aspect of her life, Elliott has stated: “Classical opera is the best way to warm up your voice for singing rock. You don’t want to lose your voice rocking out”.

Music Career

In 2008, Elliott revealed that she would be releasing her first solo album in the near future, and also spoke about the title of the album, “No More Lies”. Reportedly, she was influenced by her opposite musical training and preferences, adding – “The sound is very pop rock, but I’m really into heavy hard rock. The song is about love, of course, and finding love and losing it but it is not about one specific person.” As of today, she represents a group of young musicians from Malibu, with bands like 2 Cents and Tin Horn, and solo singers such as Schwayze. Speaking further about her influences, she states that she looks up to artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Guns ‘n’ Roses, and Fiona Apple and Sheryl Crow.

ASCAP

Besides working as a model and a singer, Cleo is also a member of The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, and speaking regarding that, said “It was great working with them because we have such chemistry together”. She wrote the majority of the songs on her album, and was reportedly ready to produce when she was introduced to Bobby Harby, and speaking about that, she added that she was lucky to collaborate with artists such as Bobby and Charity.

Modeling career

Cleo has also worked as a model, and was photographed alongside her parents by “Malibu Times Magazine” in late July 2013 in Malibu, and later on posed alongside her father in the same year, for 2013 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, held at Nokia Theatre, located in Los Angeles, California.

Violence Accusations

Cleo faced criticism when her mother Katherine claimed that she has been abusing her verbally and emotionally ever since she was a child. Additionally, Ross stated that Cleo became more and more violent as she grew. In early March 2011, the singer lost control and told Ross that she wanted to kill her and began following her around the house, kicking cupboard doors in the kitchen. Katherine stated that she wanted to call the police, but her daughter cut the telephone line and threatened to poke her eye with scissors.  Later on in the same month, Ross filed for a protective order, requiring her daughter to stay at least 100 yards away from her. Besides that, Elliott had to be accompanied by a police officer when she wanted to collect her belongings from her mother’s house. However, it was never revealed why the incident happened.

Private Life and Husband

Cleo doesn’t share much information regarding her current private life. She is, however, active on Instagram and is followed by 5,000 people on that social network. Reportedly, she is very fond of animals, and refers to herself as “animal mother”, and often posts photos of her cat and dog to her account.  Speaking about her relationship status, she doesn’t share that kind of information with the media, but is still single, with no rumours abroad of romantic associations.

Quotes

#Quote
1The Catholic church happened to The Golden Compass (2007), as far as I'm concerned. It did incredible at the box office. Incredible. It took $85m in the States. The Catholic church... lambasted them, and I think it scared New Line off.
2[on his Did You Hear About the Morgans? (2009) co-star Hugh Grant] I've never known anybody that can get away with the shit that Hugh Grant gets away with. And he gets away with it because he's so damn charming. He gets away with everything. I couldn't get away with the stuff he gets away with -- I mean I wouldn't even try! Hugh Grant is the main man. He's the number one romantic comedy man in the world.
3I'm picky, very picky. I wanted to be an actor since I was nine years old and I figured that was only one way to ever have any longevity and that's to be careful about what kind of work you do. You can work for money, do a lot of whatever comes your way and not have any kind of a yardstick to measure quality by, and people, you know you'll make a lot of money if you're lucky, and people will get fed up and sick of seeing you and that's it onto the next one. - On his career choices.
4I was really happy that Ang Lee won the Best Director award, I got to know him very well on Hulk (2003). But I'm not the Brokeback Mountain (2005) crowd, what can I tell ya. I'm more of a purist. But at the same time, it's a new day.
5I think I might have been a more interesting actor, had more of a career earlier on, if I had more formal preparation. When I see something ten years later that I was in I think, "Boy, would I love to do that over."
6I've spent my entire career on horseback or on a motorcycle. It boxes you in, the way people perceive you. I read a lot of scripts. Most of 'em go to other actors.
7in the December 1976 issue of "Playgirl"] I don't want to be known as a sex symbol. There's a great stigma that goes with that tag. I want to be a Sam Elliott.
