Cleo is a daughter of Katherine Ross and Sam Elliott, and her grandparents are Dudley Ross and Ketherine W. Hall. Speaking about her education, Elliott studied singing and was especially focused on Italian opera, with her teacher being Charity Chapman. Later on, she started working as a model for a hair styling show entitled “SEXYHAIR” in 2003. In 2006, Cleo graduated from the Joanne Barron/ D.W. Brown Acting Studio, but somewhat later she trainedg as a classical singer, collaborating with Charity Chapman once again.  Speaking about that aspect of her life, Elliott has stated: “Classical opera is the best way to warm up your voice for singing rock. In 2008, Elliott revealed that she would be releasing her first solo album in the near future, and also spoke about the title of the album, “No More Lies”. Reportedly, she was influenced by her opposite musical training and preferences, adding – “The sound is very pop rock, but I’m really into heavy hard rock. The song is about love, of course, and finding love and losing it but it is not about one specific person.” As of today, she represents a group of young musicians from Malibu, with bands like 2 Cents and Tin Horn, and solo singers such as Schwayze. Speaking further about her influences, she states that she looks up to artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Guns ‘n’ Roses, and Fiona Apple and Sheryl Crow.

Cleo faced criticism when her mother Katherine claimed that she has been abusing her verbally and emotionally ever since she was a child. Additionally, Ross stated that Cleo became more and more violent as she grew. In early March 2011, the singer lost control and told Ross that she wanted to kill her and began following her around the house, kicking cupboard doors in the kitchen. Katherine stated that she wanted to call the police, but her daughter cut the telephone line and threatened to poke her eye with scissors.  Later on in the same month, Ross filed for a protective order, requiring her daughter to stay at least 100 yards away from her. Besides that, Elliott had to be accompanied by a police officer when she wanted to collect her belongings from her mother’s house. However, it was never revealed why the incident happened.

Private Life and Husband

Cleo doesn’t share much information regarding her current private life. She is, however, active on Instagram and is followed by 5,000 people on that social network. Reportedly, she is very fond of animals, and refers to herself as “animal mother”, and often posts photos of her cat and dog to her account.  Speaking about her relationship status, she doesn’t share that kind of information with the media, but is still single, with no rumours abroad of romantic associations.
