During her time at the university, she worked at Dynamic Cable as a sports director, and after graduating, she worked for CBS Sports for which she was a videotape co-ordinator.

She also produced a sportscast show for WTVJ-TV in Miami, leading her to win a local Sports Emmy. In 1989, she worked as a freelance specials producer for WPLG Miami, and produced two magazine shows, entitled “Greyhound Racing America” and “Cowboys Special Edition”. She also produced NFL films, and was a weekend sports anchor as well as weekday feature reporter for WPEC-TV, located in West Palm Beach, Florida. She stayed there until 1993 when she decided to move to ESPN.
