Who is Sam Elliott’s daughter, musician Cleo Rose Elliott?

Born on the 17th of September 1984, in Malibu, California USA, Cleo Rose Elliott is a 33-year-old Caucasian model, musician and singer, but perhaps best known for being the only child of two famous Hollywood stars – Sam Elliot and Katharine Ross. However, she has had a number of her own successes over the course of her career, mostly as a musician, having been active in the often lucrative music business since 2009.

Early Life and Education

As media sources report, Cleo’s parents met each other on the set of the Hollywood movie entitled “Legacy”. Supposedly, their romance started at that point, after which they married in 1984. It is unknown when Cleo exactly gained an interest in what she does today, although there is the fact that her parents used to send her to flute and guitar classes at a very early point in her youth. As her musical experience increased, she was eventually able to grasp rhythm enough to teach herself how to sing. She studied singing from 2002 to 2006 at the prestigious Joanne Barron/D.W. Brown Acting Studio in Santa Monica, California. Over the course of her singing education, she made Italian opera her main focus, but a year into the acting studio experience, Cleo made an appearance in the live hair-styling show entitled “Sexyhair”, which accounts for her first modeling job. After she graduated from the said educational institution, she received additional training from the famous Charity Chapman, which helped her learn how to sing classical opera also.

Career

She entered the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) society with the help of her aforementioned tutor, who introduced her to Bobby Harby, a producer and a member of the said institution; she showed Bobby a single song that she wrote, for which he had a strong impression, then in the magazine “Malibu Times” in January of 2008, Cleo announced a solo CD entitled “No More Lies.” When interviewed about the song, Cleo stated: ‘The sound is very pop rock, but I’m really into heavy hard rock.’ When asked about the main song of the album, she said: ‘The song is about love, of course, and finding love and losing it but it is not about one specific person.’ Aside from her own album, she has also collaborated with other famous musicians, such as 2 Cents and Tin Horn. When asked about her style, Cleo stated that it was inspired by multiple musical legends, such as Guns’n’Roses, Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd, ultimately adding Fiona Apple and Sheryl Crow to the list. In spite of her parents’ fame and the talent that numerous ASCAP members vouched for, Cleo’s musical debut was short lived, and she didn’t manage to gain significant recognition for it.

Her Mother

Although it’s evident that her parents were quite supportive during her maturation, it doesn’t seem that Cleo has much affection for her mother. According to the media, Cleo has in multiple instances been quite aggressive towards Katharine, and in March 2011, there was an allegation that stated Cleo lost control and threatened to kill her, following Katharine around the house until ultimately the latter called the police for help, so Cleo cut the telephone wire with a pair of scissors, saying she would poke her mother’s eyes out. There is no evidence that this incident went down exactly this way, but it was reported by DailyMail that Katharine was granted a protective order against Cleo, which prohibited her from coming any closer than 100 yards to her mother, her mother’s car and workplace. To top it off, Katharine had a police officer escort.

What is Cleo Rose Elliott’s Net Worth?

Close to $1.5 million.

1The Catholic church happened to The Golden Compass (2007), as far as I'm concerned. It did incredible at the box office. Incredible. It took $85m in the States. The Catholic church... lambasted them, and I think it scared New Line off.
2[on his Did You Hear About the Morgans? (2009) co-star Hugh Grant] I've never known anybody that can get away with the shit that Hugh Grant gets away with. And he gets away with it because he's so damn charming. He gets away with everything. I couldn't get away with the stuff he gets away with -- I mean I wouldn't even try! Hugh Grant is the main man. He's the number one romantic comedy man in the world.
3I'm picky, very picky. I wanted to be an actor since I was nine years old and I figured that was only one way to ever have any longevity and that's to be careful about what kind of work you do. You can work for money, do a lot of whatever comes your way and not have any kind of a yardstick to measure quality by, and people, you know you'll make a lot of money if you're lucky, and people will get fed up and sick of seeing you and that's it onto the next one. - On his career choices.
4I was really happy that Ang Lee won the Best Director award, I got to know him very well on Hulk (2003). But I'm not the Brokeback Mountain (2005) crowd, what can I tell ya. I'm more of a purist. But at the same time, it's a new day.
5I think I might have been a more interesting actor, had more of a career earlier on, if I had more formal preparation. When I see something ten years later that I was in I think, "Boy, would I love to do that over."
6I've spent my entire career on horseback or on a motorcycle. It boxes you in, the way people perceive you. I read a lot of scripts. Most of 'em go to other actors.
7in the December 1976 issue of "Playgirl"] I don't want to be known as a sex symbol. There's a great stigma that goes with that tag. I want to be a Sam Elliott.

1Samuel Pack Elliott was born in Sacramento, California, to Glynn Mamie (Sparks), a physical training instructor, and Henry Nelson Elliott, who worked for the Department of the Interior. His parents were both born in Texas. Sam is mainly of English, with some Scottish, descent.

4Shares birthday with "Smokey Bear," and Sam Elliott has been the voice of "Smokey Bear" since 2008.
5In The Big Lebowski (1998), his strange cowboy character admonishes The Dude (played by Jeff Bridges) for using "cusswords." When recalling anecdotes for the book "I'm a Lebowski, You're a Lebowski: Life, The Big Lebowski, and What Have You" from that film, Elliott used by far the most profanities of any cast member.
6To date, he is the first (and only) actor to be nominated for an Emmy for guest-performing on Robot Chicken (2005).
7Fifth husband of Katharine Ross.
8Used his own Winchester 1894 rifle in Thank You for Smoking (2005).
9After portraying General Ross in Hulk (2003) he wanted to reprise the role in the reboot The Incredible Hulk (2008), but the part was given to William Hurt.
10Had not read any of the 'His Dark Materials' books before he was asked to take the role as Lee Scoresby in The Golden Compass (2007). He chose to first read the books by Philip Pullman, then read the film's script.
11His character in Hulk (2003), Gen. Ross, wore a combat patch for the 1st Cavalry Division. In We Were Soldiers (2002), he played Sgt. Maj. Plumley of the 7th Cavalry Regiment, part of the 1st Cav Div.
12For his role on Tombstone (1993), he worked with renowned Hollywood gun coach Thell Reed, who has also trained such actors as Val Kilmer, Kurt Russell, Bill Paxton, Girard Swan, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Russell Crowe.
13He is an alumnus of Clark College in Vancouver, Washington.
14Illness forced him to drop out of the 1982 TV movie The Ambush Murders (1982). He was replaced by James Brolin.
